There will be so many great finds in one place that you’ll think it’s better than date night with your beau. OK, maybe we’re stretching a
little but we know you might find a cute LBD that you can wear on the next date night with Mr. Right! Isn’t that AH-MAZING?

Who’s graduating this year? Highschool? College? I’m proud to say I’ll be walking the stage this Thursday, the problem is, I NEED A DRESS! I was thinking about what kind of dress to get, and kind of arbitrarily came up with some thoughts I wanted to share.
1. This isn’t your prom. Let’s go with something in between backyard BBQ and wedding dress.
2. Avoid club wear. Keep in mind there will be lots of parents and grandparents there. If you think you’ll blind me with sequins as soon as you unzip your gown, just pass. And it you’re basically naked under there…keep the gown on : )
3. No maxis. I don’t think anyone would wear a maxi dress for graduation, but I felt like I had to say it anyway..it’s too casual and will look weird with the length of your graduation gown.
I made a pin board for graduation inspiration, follow me and feel free to create your own graduation dress inspiration boards and share! Click the image below:
This Friday at Thistle Coffee House (4445 2nd Ave, Detroit, MI 48201) about ten of my students (and about 20 from other schools around the city) are participating in an open mic/ poetry slam that some of my teacher friends and I have organized. The open mic starts at 6 and the slam starts at 7.
If you want to enjoy some of the best coffee in Detroit and watch and support the future as they shine on the mic, then stop on by! It’s free!

Wayne State University’s FDMO Presents: High Voltage
Wayne State’s FDMO has been working hard to bring an amazing event together to celebrate fashion & music. The event is entitled High Voltage and will take place April 19th at the DSO, starting at 6:30 p.m. This year’s show will be showcasing over 20 different talented student designers. Tickets are free for students (with their WSU OneCard) and are available for purchase to the public through detroitsymphony.com for only $10. Unfortunately, due to my hectic work and school schedule I was unable to go to the meetings to be personally involved in the making of this year’s show but I will be attending the actual event and I’m very excited about that. I urge everyone who lives in the area to come out, have a good time, support young designers, annnnnd say hi to me while you’re there :).

Thank you!
This week I had the pleasure of receiving make up courtesy of Purely Pro Cosmetics, so I did a little photo shoot to show you how I rocked it with Yasmine Ramouni.
Here’s what I got:
- Bronze Baby Bronzer in exotic blend
- Eyeshadow in glowstick
- Lipgloss in pink lady
- Vegan Brushes -91 Multi-Task
The brush feels amazing on my eyelid and one side can be used for precision liner.
The eyeshadow is a buttery color, made from the finest micropowders. It is long-wearing and has a shimmer, but can be blended Matte. I used the eyeshadow as the perfect high light on my browbone, blending the darker brown hues into the crease of my eyelid. I love the consistancy and sheerness of the shadow, unexpectedly versatile and stayed on all day.
My favorite product was the Bronze Baby Bronzer. I don’t usually wear bronzer because I’m basically tan all year round, but it gave my skin a flawless, shimmer and glow that I loved. A little goes a long way with this product, don’t over the application or you’ll end up a shiny mess.
Purely Pro lip products are enhanced with moisturizers, vitamin E and aloe to add softness to your lips. I thought “pink lady” was a great lip gloss to wear over your favorite lip stick, to give it that extra sparkle and shine. I really liked that it was a heavier textured gloss, it makes my lips feel secure. Ultimate pink gloss staple.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the ERollins Group Meet/Greet Fashion Preview with my best friend/photographer, Amanda. ERollins is a fashion marketing firm that works with fashion industry professionals (photographers, models, boutiques, etc. ) who are looking to expand their brand and marketing efforts.
The event was held to introduce the “new” ERollins Group with a fun Spring/Summer Fashion Preview and provide a networking opportunity for Detroit fashion industry professionals. Inside the Romanesque hall, fashionistas from the Detroit area gathered, networked and watched a unique fashion show headlined by Charles Lynch and Diane Berry. (LOVED Diane Berry’s collection!) I was thinking at the beginning of the event, it would be really cool if the models walked through these grand wooden doors, and what do you know? That’s exactly what they did. The models walked through entrances on either side of the hallway, so we all got to have a good look at the fun and chic ensembles.
Ebony Rollins came out to speak to all of us about her project and encouraged us to all go and network with each other after the show. I got to speak with her for a moment, she is such a warm and positive person, so glad I got to meet her! Also, so happy I got to see a few familiar faces!

Hi!
As you may or may not know, I will be graduating from CCS this May, and this summer I have accepted a copywriting internship in New York! I’m patiently counting down the days until I can embark on a new adventure and I’m looking forward to stepping up to the plate, professionally and fashionably. I gathered some NYC street style images for inspiration, feel free to pass on any blogs that you follow with NY style!
For those of you that are curious, this is where I’ll be presumably spending most of my time: Bartle Bogle Hegarty

I received this product complimentary as part of Influensters Love Vox Box. I was probably most excited to try this product since I’m always looking for fun ways to spice up the original manicure. I haven’t received so many compliments and comments on my nails…maybe ever. Everyone was interested in what brand I was using and if they were “those stick on nails.” I got to try a really fun cheetah print design and pretty much rocked it with every outfit. Kiss Nail Dress is available in 18 different styles, I really want to try some of their 3-dimensional jeweled designs! Nail Dress also requires no top coat, and contains 28 strips in each package for extra creativity on your next manicure.

The process of applying them started with filing your nails and making sure they were clean (important!) then finding a size that closely matched the width of your nail which was a little difficult, took some trial and error. You had to fold over the excess and use the included file to shave the rest of the nail application away. I felt like that step resulted in harming the edge of design on my nail. Overall, looked pretty good though. The price retails for $6.99 at all major drug chains and mass retailers. Mine lasted probably about 5 days until the designs were too damaged to where I felt like I needed to take them off. The packaging said they last up to 10 days, which I believe could be true if I had taken better precaution with my nails. I would definitely consider using Kiss Nail Dress again for a special occasion or fun night out!
